EXPERT
ADVICE:
When
installing a winch, Lewmar recommends the
winch must be mounted on an even surface and
that the rope enters the drum at an angle of
5' to 10' to the base axis of the winch. This
angle can be achieved by using a base wedge
when mounting the winch.

The Lewmar variable speed controller has an increased range of options and functionality for the control of electric winch speeds. The new unit gives sheet and halyard operators fingertip operation and increased control over the sail plan via 4 installation choices;
o
A single, high speed deck switch
o
One high-speed deck switch, plus a second, half speed deck switch
o
A high speed deck switch, plus a vario control (twist action) used
with a second deck switch to allow the user to select any speed from
slow to full speed.
o
A standalone vario deck switch; pushed to activate, twisted to
control the speed, and released to switch off.
Variable Speed Controller Lewmar's unique Safety Overload Cut-Out protects the winch from overload. A function only offered by Lewmar. Whilst a manual override facility is available for back up, or as mean of experiencing traditional sailing.
Push
button power eliminates the grind whilst
retaining the pleasures of sailing.
Combining this with Lewmar’s Wavespring
Self-Tailer offers the closest feeling to
hands-free sailing.
By
using a high efficiency motor battery
drain is minimised, whilst a perfect
combination of drum speed, power and
torque is provided to ensure smooth and
efficient sail trimming.
